Happy July 4th and in Utah the 24th too.
July brings warm weather, Independence Day, and all the celebrations our nations freedom. There are parades, Fireworks, and the annual Freedom Festival in nearby Provo. There is a balloon launch every 4th of July, and BYU stadium is turned into a concert/fireworks show in what is dubbed, “The Stadium of Fire”. If you plan on being here on July 4th, get some tickets, it’s quite a show.
In Utah, the 24th of July, Pioneer Day is also a holiday, commemorating the Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints first entry into the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. There are parades and fireworks on the 24th rivaling the Independence Day celebrations, so the Fireworks stands stay open most of July in Utah. Though Fireworks are banned in the area the Mountain View Mansion, there are numerous parks and other areas (church parking lots are popular) to set off fireworks. Check the local laws where you want to go for fireworks and have a wonderful July!
